Gordon King Pond

The 7 Acre Gordon King Pond is a one of a kind natural area with a beautiful walking trail under impressive steel arbours.

Arbours of Keswick has been carefully planned to include green space, including parks and walking trails, all centred around the main feature in the community, an aerated natural water amenity, Gordon King Pond.

The pond is named after Gordon King. An Edmonton resident since 1965, Gordon King embodied the remarkable characteristics that we are proud to showcase in our community. After spending time overseas defending our country in World War II, Gordon continued to give back through various charities and associations he created. He remains an inspiration to Canadians and a well-known representation of our strong Canadian culture.

Arbours of Keswick is proud to recognize and celebrate Gordon King with the dedication of the pond that sits in the centre of the community. The roads immediately surrounding the pond are King Vista, King Landing, King Gate and King Wynd, also all in his honour.

Yellow Fish Program

As part of a Yellow Fish community, we are committed to encouraging our residents to live with sustainability in mind. It is a reminder to residents to be “water aware” in how they consume and dispose of daily water.

By taking steps every day, we can improve water quality in our community and maintain a healthy watershed. Follow these tips to be “water wise:”

  • Salt and detergents effect the chemical composition of water. Use the car wash and not your driveway and opt for sand instead of salt on icy walks.

  • Find natural alternatives to herbicides, pesticides, and detergents to keep them out of the storm system after a rain.

  • Add native plants and grasses to your yard. They create habitat, take up excess nutrients, and hold soils in place.

  • Rely on the appropriate facilities to dispose of waste. Edmonton’s Eco-Stations can handle a wide range of items.
